*facepalm* i know, my questions must be annoying. -.- what is it about that tag? and what's it about that Dirty Sherlock Secrets thing? -marina (btw, i was the 6 & 16 earlier...)
Hey Marina *waves* Thanks for your ask earlier :)) So, for your question… I tend to forget that you’re not on tumblr, so probably you haven’t the slightest idea how it’s working, right? See, what looks like a blog to you from the outside is “secretly” a social network on the inside. We have possibilities to talk to each other privately and we keep in touch via our blogs - a lot. People who follow me don’t need to check my blog, they see what I post on their dashboard (it’s similar to a twitter timeline, if you know that one better?)
But it’s not only the people you follow, you can also track certain tags people use for their posts. So if I go on the Benedict Cumberbatch tag, I can see every post from everyone who tagged their posts with his name. It’s an easy way to find new blogs to follow, too.
The Dirty Sherlock Secrets (I refuse to link it, because of reasons) is a tumblr where people can send in their sexual phantasies about the Sherlock characters and actors via ask, and they’re then publicly (but anonymously) published on the blog. And because they too tag most of those posts with ‘Benedict Cumberbatch’, their posts are shown within the tag page. And it’s… eek. Very.
I blocked this very blog now so their posts don’t show up anymore, but some of the things girls said might have damaged me for life :O No, of course I’m exaggerating, but it is really disgusting - especially when it’s not about the characters but the actors themselves. I don’t care what people phantasize about - but I don’t want to know. People seem to forget sometimes that they’re talking about actual living, breathing human beings and I just think it’s not okay. There is an invisible line between excessive fangirling and just eww that shouldn’t be crossed, but not everyone knows where it lies, obviously.
That's what the block button is made for. I did this with every dirtysecrets blog that bothers me in my various followed tags :).
Oh honey, I did.
And still, I felt the need to name my feelings there. I am well aware that I’m a bit oversensitive around the topic as a whole - even if I don’t like it I can usually cope with most things going around and just pull it off with a shrug. But when it comes to the actors and what “fantasies” people publicly post about them (even if it’s anon) - Lord, it makes me want to kill myself. I’m not even sorry.
Is ‘Sherlock’ a proper answer to this? ;) If not, I’d totally go for Molly. I mean, she’s just that good! Plus, I can identify with her, a lot. She would do anything for Sherlock, because she loves him so much, and she never asks for anything in return. She would literally follow him to the end of the world. It’s bad for her, I know this because I was in this situation myself, but I guess many people can identify with her. Or so I hope?
16 - What do you think of Molly Hooper
Ew. I should really start checking all questions before starting to answer them, huh? See above =/
Thanks so much, anon! Keep it going, I really like this one ♥
Wow, ok, the cruel ones first? Alright uh… Sherlock. Yes, indeed. See, it’s phases for me - somewhen during the hiatus and when DW was so new for me, I talked much more about DW than Sherlock, it was kinda… more important to me. But after all Sherlock changed my life and it did so much to me, it matters A LOT and this will never change! So, yes, it’s in fact Sherlock over Doctor Who.
15 - Thoughts on Mycroft x Lestrade
Yes good. I ship everything with anything, it’s fine for me. I’ve never read any fic though, because… idk, I guess I’m just not that interested in “side characters” (if you want to call them that). But basically, I think it’s a good idea. Everything’s fine, nothing hurts.
22 - Sherlock cast or Doctor Who Cast
Ooooooh. Um. Oh. Sherlock cast! Sherlock has Benedict, after all. It’s difficut if you see them as a whole, b/c DW has so many great people. But then… it’s Sherlock. Look at Martin Freeman, look at Lou Brealey. Mark. Rupert. Andrew. Una. No, it’s definitely the Sherlock cast!
“I’m always cast as sort of slightly wan, ethereal, troubled, intellectuals or physically ambivalent bad lovers. I’m here to tell you I’m quite the opposite in real life. I’m a fucking fantastic lover.”—
I used to do this on a weekly basis but when Sherlock madness hit I didn’t have time anymore but I’ve had a few requests to bring it back so here’s a list of where you can see Benedict and his co-stars over the coming weeks:
